NOTE: THE TYPICAL SCHEME lllA ON FIGURE 8.3-8B, SHEET 13e OF 13 IS FOR DC CONTROL CIRCUITS UTILIZING A CONTACT SIGNAL FROM INSIDE CONTAINMENT. SINCE THE DC DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM IS UNGROUNDED UNDER A SINGLE LINE TO GROUND FAULT, THE SYSTEM CONTINUES TO OPERATE AS DESIGNED. UPON A LINE TO LINE FAULT OR A SHORT, THECIRCUITACTSASTHOUGHTHECONTACTWAS CLOSED AND DRAWS THE SAME CURRENT AS IT WOULD UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES (LESS THAN 7 AMPS). ALTHOUGH A BACKUP PROTECTION IS PROVIDED FOR THESE CIRCUITS, IT IS NOT CONSIDERED NECESSARY TO PROTECT THE INTEGRITY OF PENETRATIONS. THEREFORE, THE OVERLAP BETWEEN THE PENETRATION CURVE AND(JHE 30 AMP FUSE WOULD NOT COMPROMISE THE INTEGRITY OF THE PENETRATION.
