NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STANDARDS AND TECHNOLOGY-AMENDMENT 11, APPROVAL OF RELOCATION OF IRRADIATOR (ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFICATION CODE: CAC/EPID 000224/L-2021-LLA-0046)

Dear Dr. Mackey:

On March 12, 2021, you submitted a license amendment request (LAR) seeking authorization to relocate the Hopewell Designs G150 Irradiator from the B-wing of Building 245 and installed in the H-wing of the same building where acceptance testing and unit commissioning would be completed for use (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS]

Accession Number ML21078A041). The LAR requests that Hopewell Designs, the manufacturer of the irradiator, be authorized to uninstall the irradiator from its current location, transport the unit within the building to the new facility for installation, and completion of acceptance testing and commissioning for use, as currently authorized under Special Nuclear Materials License SNM-362.

The amendment is approved. License condition 10 of SNM-362 has been modified to include your March 12, 2021, letter in which you provided a description of the requested changes and the basis of the request. Public and non-public versions of Amendment 11 to SNM-362 are included as Enclosures 2 and 4. License Condition 10 has been revised as follows:

10. Authorized Use: For use in accordance with statements, representations, and conditions of the licensees renewal application dated June 29, 2007; and revised on June 24, 2010; March 23, 2011; June 5, 2013; October 31, 2013; December 27, 2013; November 14, 2016; January 5, 2017; January 11, 2017; March 31, 2017; and October 7, 2017; January 6, 2020; June 3, 2020; and March 12, 2021.

When separated from these enclosures, this letter is decontrolled.
