SUBJECT:

FORT ST. VRAIN BUILDING 10, SEISMIC DESIGN - REQUEST l FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION (TAC NO. 55287) j We are continuing the review of your submittal dated May 29, 1987 (P-87170) which provided information concerning the seismic design of Building 10 at Fort St. Vrain. This review is being performed by our contractor, Brookhaver.

National Laboratory (BNL). In reviewing your submittal, BNL has determined that certain additional information is required as follows:

1. Reference is made to the computer code PILAY2. Please provide descriptive material for this code. If the computer code generates frequency dependent interaction coefficients, a plot of the stiffness and damping interaction coefficients as a function of frequency should be provided.

2. Sketches or drawings should be provided showing the caisson / slab / wall  !

configurations upon which Public Service Company of Colorado concluded '

that the foundation system is two to four time; stiffer than the caissons.

Please provide the requested information within 45 days of the date of this l letter. The information requested in this letter affects fewer than 10 respon-dents; therefore OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.
