Allegation RI-85-A-0103 was received on 10/2/85 at 0700 by J. Williams.

Characterization of the 1 concern: .

Concerned aboat fired for talking to the NRC about exposures received from 3/1/85 incident with Unit 3 offgas system.

Confidentiality: No Name: George Fields i Employer: Bartlett Nuclear Address: I Position: H. P. Technician Phone: j J

Type of Regulated Activity: Reactor (

Functional Area (s): Onsite Health & Safety j 3

DETAILS: (Timeframe of Allegation: March 1, 1985)

The alleger believes he is being fired because PECo thinks he talked to NRC about an incident that occurred on March 1, B85. The alleger stated the j reason PECo gave for firing the alleger was for taking too much sick leave ]

(alleger has taken.16 days since first of year). Five days were taken due to 1 an automobile accident and the alleger had sick leave approved two weeks before j having wisdom teeth pulled (information volunteered by alleger). Another j person is being fired at the same time for the same reason and four new H.P.'s i are being hired. The alleger's last scheduled work day is 10/4. The alleger j stated that other.H.P.'s attendance records are much worse and are still working.

The alleger is still concerned about exposures received during the 3/1/85 event. The alleger's exposure concerns appear not to have been adequately discussed with the alleger (NRC IR 85-31 covers incident and a copy will be given to the alleger on 10/3/85).

The alleger said that about 2 weeks ago, Allen Hilsmeier and Jack Winzenreid spoke to the alleger about going to the NRC. The alleger was told not to go to the NRC with the concerns.  ;

(The worker is on the midnight to 7:00 shift; resident told the alleger he '

would be in contact at 7:00 on 10/3).
