SUBJECT: ROUTINE SAFETY INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-030/97201 AND

50-185/97201

Dear Mr. Kozar:

This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted on August 26-27,1997 at the Plum

Brook Reactor Facility (PBRF). The purpose of the inspection was to determine whether

activities authorized by the license were conducted safely and in accordance with NRC

requirements. At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussed with you

ano Mr. H. Pf anner, Reactor Manager.

Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the enclosed report. Within these

areas, the inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative

records, interviews with personnel, obseivation of activities in progress, and a walk through

of the facility.

No v;olations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this inspection,

in accordance with 10 CFR Part 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this

letter and the enclosed inspection e ., ort will be pieced in the NRC Public Document Room.
