SUBJECT:
REQUEST FOR AUXILIARY SYSTEMS BRNACH (ASB) ASSISTANCE ON THE DIABLO CANYON APPENDIX R INSPECTION (NOVEMBER 18-22, 1985)
As a result of the workload associated with Appendix R inspections and_due to past inspection experience showing issues having been raised requiring ASB assistance to resolve these issues, Region V requests the assistance of one ASB Fire Protection Reviewer be provided to participate at the 7
Diablo Canyon Appendix R Fire Protection / Safe Shutdown inspection scheduled for November 18-22, 1985. Our intention to request assistance has been previously communicated to your staff verbally.
We would also like to express our appreciation for ASB participation at the Rancho Seco Appendix R Fire Protection / Safe Shutdown inspection which contributed significantly to the outcome of the inspection results. We anticipate their continued value at future Region V inspection.
To determine the extent of participation by your fire protection reviewer, please have your staff contact Mr. P. M. Qualls (FTS 463-3859) of my staff or me.
