Carey, DLC to USNRC; Response to NRC Comments to Changes Made to FSAR Section 14.2, Initial Test Program; May 21, 1987 Gentlemen:
In a telephone conversation, May 22, 1987, the NRC requested additional information on DLC's letter of May 21, 1987.
-Specifically, Items 4 and 8wof the referenced letter are supplemented here:
1)
Item 4, an Air Receiver Volume Test is not required because the Containment Instrument Air System is not safety related, not required to achieve safety-grade cold shutdown and all valves using instrument air fail to their safe position which is verified by SOV-2.34.05, Response of Plant Air-Operatored Valves To Loss of Instrument Air Test.

Item 8, The Manufacturers Report of Main Transformer Test, 270ll-41-301-001A shows that the transformer maintains the winding temperature rise to less than 55 C as required by ANSI C57.12.90 which is called for by Generator Step-up Transformer Specification 2BVS-301.
Additionally, DLC will test the Transformer Cooling System at 50% and 100% Reactor Power by STP-2.35.01, Main Transformer Test.
