'otification of Unusual Event i

on Wednesday, October 26, 1988, at 0650 hours0.00752 days <br />0.181 hours <br />0.00107 weeks <br />2.47325e-4 months <br />, a Notification of Unusual Event (NOUE) was dec1kred in accordance with Emergency Plan Implementing ,

Procedure EC-02 Emergency Classification. This procedure requires that I an NOUE be declared if a loss of any Engineered Safety Feature (EST)  ;

occurs requiring plant shutdown due to CPS Technical Specifications. l Clinton Power Station was operating at approximately 93% power in hode 1.

l On Wednesday, October 26, 1988, at 0410, Technical Specification 3.0.3 ,

was entered due to declaring Control Room Ventilation (VC) train A  !

inoperabie. Train A was declared inoperable due to a faulty flow i transmitter. Train B was declared inoperable on 10/22/88 due to the  !

minimum outside air damper being failed in the closed position. l l

At 0650 the NC' ' was declared. The State of Illinois was notified at  !

0652; the NRC 'sucident Response Center was notified at 0706; and the NRC l Resident Inspector was notified at 0650.

The plant responded by reducing reactor power and performing calibration t on train A flow transmitter. Reactor power reached approximately 48%.  !

Following partial performance of surveillance 9070.01 for post maintenance testing Train A was declared operable. ,

The Shif t Supervisor terminated the NOUE at 1043. The State of 111 fools ,

was notified of the termination at 1049; the NRC Incident Response r Center was notified at 1050; and the NRC Resident Inspector was notified  ;
