TEST REQUIREMENT: Full stroke exercise and stroke time quarterly BASIS FOR RELIEF: This valve automatically regulates to maintain the minimum flow through the pump by monitoring the flow on the suction of the pump. There are not sufficient manual controls on this valve to permit the desired testing.

BASIS FOR RELIZF: Flow cannot be put through these valves because this would contaminate the aux. feed system with raw water.

ALTERNATE TESTING: At least one of these two valves will be disassembled and full stroked during each refueling outage, and both valves will have been disassembled and full stroked after 4 two consecutive refueling outages. Failure of one valve to properly full stroke during a refueling outage will result in the remaining valve being disassembled and full stroked during that outage.

TEST REQUIREMENT: Verify proper valve movement every three months.

BASIS FOR RELIEF: Valve cannot be full or partial stroke exercised during power operation or cold shutdown because this would result in an increase in the RCS boron inventory and could result in a plant shutdown.

Full stroke exercising during cold shutdown could result in a low temp. overpressurization of the RCS.

ALTERNATE TESTING: Valve will be full stroked during refueling.

O MC-2554-3.1 VALVE: 2NV-223 CATEGORY. C CLASS: B FUNCTION: Opens on flow alignment from FWST.

TEST REQUIREMENT: Verify proper valve movement every three months.

BASIS FOR RELIEF: Testing of this valve requires opening 2NV-221A or 2NV-2228. Failure of one of these valves in the open position aligns the FWST to the suction of the charging pumps with no mea,s of isolating the flow path. This would result in at increase in boron inventory in the RCS and could result in a plant shutdown. Full stroke 5l exercising or partial stroke exercising at cold shutdown l could result in a low temperature overpressurization.
