As you know, Wayne Meinke has been organizing the RAB plant files in room P-720B, I and space has been allocated on the shelves for environnental and occupational infor- '

mation for coch OR and OL plant. Hard copy and microfiche of documents, descriptive information, and data sheets combine to provide (along with the files in room P-712) our Branch archival record for these plants. Information for many plants is quite complete, but for others much archival information is scattered in boxes and files  !

and bookcases throughout the Branch.

The RETS imploaentation program for ors has required that we take stock of the l archival files for each OR. As the SER for the RETS subnission for an OR is completed,  !

up-to-date folders for the RETS and ODCM are prepared, and records and. reports for that OR are sorted through. We are now completing the RETS evaluation for an OR every week or two. I want to use this completion as the trigger point to upgrade i all of our files in P-7208 by collecting all the records and papers for that OR.

The plant filcs in P-7208 are for both occupational and environmental information and records; they ceaplenent, but do not overlap, the plant files in the file cabinets in P-712. They should include, in addition to the RET.S. ODCM and RETS MASTER FILE for METB/RAB, annual, semiannual, and monthly reports if pertinent, FSAR, USAR and ER sections, hard copy of SER and DfS/FES sections with microfiche of the complete documents, microfiche of the latest USAR. EIAs, plant specific documents on both l cccupational and envirorraental problems GASPAR and LADTAP computer printouts, plant '

data sheets, hearing transcripts, testimony, and affidavits. Additional information on these files is given on the attached sheet.

Wayne Meinke will serve as the focal point for the upgrading of these files. I ask that you look through the papers and documents in your files and turn in any of the above types of matcrial for the plants listed below to the IN boxes on the top of the filing cabinets in P-7208. As the RETS cvaluation for other GF.s is completed.

Wayne will circulate a meno requesting you to turn in information on those plants.

RAB ARCHIVAL FILES RETS MASTER FILE l

l Room P-720B contains most of the RAB Archival Files as well as the RETS Master j Files for METB/RAB. These are the principal records of the Branch and care should {

be taken to return items to the shelves after use.

The shelves on the east side of P-720B contain copies of the RETS, the ODCM, the  ;

PCP, Annual Radiological Environmental Operating Reports, Semiannual Radioactive Effluent Release Reports, and the RETS Master File. The shelves on the west side of P-720B contain Appendix I submissions and evaluations, FES, ER sections, SER sections, GASPAR and LADTAP computer printouts, plant data sheets, etc. These files '

complement, but do not overlap, the plant files in the file cabinets in P-712.

l The TERA / RIDS system provides access to all Central Files documents via the RIDS terminal and the tub files of 48X microfiche. In addition there are drawers of all NUREG and NUREG/CR documents (with a delay of about 6 months after publication) on l

24X microfiche--as well as drawers of 24X fiche of DES / FESS and SERs, filed by docket number. Hard copy of pages of fiche can be made in the reader / printer l

--- or complete " blow back" copies can be ordered with a 72-hour turnaround.

Hard copies of NUREGs, NUREG/CRs., and other documents will be kept on shelves on the west side of P-720B until we "have received copies on microfiche. We also plan to keep some hard copies of documents in certain categories -- such as computer programdescfiptions. l I

All hard copy documents logged into the Branch system are stamped RADIOLDECAL ASSESSIAENT BRAE 2 These are reference copies for the Branch and should be signed out on a pink card ,.

so that other members of the Branch could locate the reports if necessary. Please f, return these marked documents in a day or so. If you need a document for a much longer time - ' order your own personal copy or xerox a few pertinent pages. l I

All documentation supporting the RETS Implementation Program for ors is marked l

REIS MASTER FILE i

and kept together with the current RETS, ODCM, and PCP. These are the Master Files [

for METB and RAB and should be kept intact.
