SUBJECT:

INPUT TO THE V0GTLE-UNITS 1 AND 2 DES-OL STAGE Enclosed is the Environmental Engineering Section's input to the DES-OL Stage for the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant - Units 1 and 2.

This input includes staff reviews by J. Lehr, G. LaRoche, and C. Billups. Also, incorporated are the inputs of ANL consultant A. Policastro (Noise Assess-ment), U. of Delaware consultant C. Counts (Asiatic clam distribution) and ORNL consultants V. Tolbert (Aquatic Resources) and Roger Kroodsma (Terrestrial Resources).

A copy of this input was provided to the Project Manager during the week of

/ 'f August 6. 1984 This input has subsequently been revised as indicated by the handwritten change on the enclosed version to reflect the draf t NPDES permit which was received by EHEB on September 5,1984.

There are two unresolved, issues, which we are working on.

The Meteorology Section of DSI is reviewing the cooling tower drift models. We will provide our final input on drift impact when we receive ~ their results. The~ proposed crossing of the Ebenezer Creek National Natural Landmark by the transmission

If we do, we will provide appropriate DES wording changes to the LPM.
