Attachment A STATEMENT OF WORK

~

The contractor will, by use of available computer codes and analytical models, provide estimates, based on a consistent risk approach, of impact velocities for tornado generated missiles. For the missiles studied, impact valocities consistent with rates of exceedance of once in 104 , 10 5, 10', anu 107 years will be provided. Variabilities in initial positions of the missiles relative to the tornado track as well as intensity and size of the tornado will be considered. The number of l missiles to be studied and the aerodynamic characteristics to be assumed  !

l for them will be provided to the contractor not later than one month after this agreement is executed.

The following reports are required:

1) A progress report in letter format, describing the methodology l to be used to develop the estimates of impact velocities and any significant preliminary results, shall be provided within four months after execution of this agreement.
2) A draft final report, summarizing the results of the work and including listings of any computer programs baed, shall be provided within eight months after execution of this agreement.
3) A final report will be provided within ten months after execution of the agreement. The final report shall be prepared in accordance with NRC Manual Chapter 3202, which by this reference forms a
