64871 The Reactor Systems Branch has reviewed the Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation's submittal regarding the MS!V change from hydraulic actuated ball valves to air operated Wye-pattern globe valves and the associated Techniccl Specifications changes fnr the MSIV. closure trip setpoints.

The new valves will close in 3 5 seconds in accordance with the present limits ghen in the technical specifications.

The new valves are actuated on the same safety related signals as previously described in the FSAR. The MSIV change has no significant effect en any transient or accident analysis.

Thus, we find the MSIV change acceptable. is our evaluation of the licensee's submittal.
