Pagt 2 of 2 All safety-related attributes for conduit, except conduit fabrication, are inspected in QI-008.
The attribute for conduit fabrication would have been examined in QI-009; except that the inspection of conduit fabrication is done on a surveillance basis, and the IR's associated
{
with these inspections are written to document only that the surveillance was performed. The conduit numbers are not recorded on these IR's and, therefore, the identification of the conduits which were inspected during fabrication cannot be determined.
Cable pull records for at least 60 cables that are in conduit were reviewed in the cable population. These records indicated that for all cables selected, the conduits were walked down by engineering prfor to the pull, the conduita vere swabbed to verify that there were no burrs or foreign material in the conduit, and there was n, evidence of damage to any cable.
This review of documentation in the cable population provides reasonable assurance that the fabrication of conduit was adequate.
Because document reviews do not obtain information that can be used relative to the adequacy of conduit fabrication. QI-009, all references and information relating to QI-009, and all packages inspected to this document review QI are hereby cancelled.
