SUBJECT:
REQUEST FOR REGION III TECHNICAL SUPPORT As a part of 01 Investigation f3-84-019 (FERMI), the Region III Office of Investigations is examing the information contained within allegation #3 of the attached allegation memorandum.
Based upon my coordination on this matter with Divison of Reactor Projects Section Chief Richard Knop, I am requesting that RIII take whatever appropriate steps are necessary, to detennine whether the welds identified in allegation f3 are in fact rejectable and what the safety significance of this matter is, if in fact the welds are bad.
