The limit is increased froe 0.7 curie to 10.0 euries escluding tritium, noble gases, and isotopes with halt lives less than three days.

VitS Modified Core Configyrat.im Jersey Central Power _& t.itht cosspany letter dated April 6. 1972 req ests authorisation to load and operate the reactor core in the configuration described. The Cycle 2 core will be compeeed of 136 fresh Type !! fuel bundles, 24 Type 11 bundles thet were inserted in the fall of 1971, and 400 Type I bundles from the orir,inal core.

$ C letter dated April 25, 1972, approves the above request and asks f or additional inf ormation prior to resumption of operations.

The additional information pertains to the transient analysis and change in the scrers reactivity curve.

Te11ure to Start of a Diesel Fire Pump Lersey Central Power I, tir.ht company letter dated April 7.1972 reports that a diesel driven fire pump failed to start during a surveillance test. The pump started on a signal from the sentrol room but f ailed to stkrt automatically en low fire main pressure.

The f ailure is attributed to defective starting storage batteries.

No ACE.S action is recoennended.
