Dear Mr. Carey:

TMNovak

Subject:

Steam Generator Level Control and Protection In the Safety Evaluation Report Related to the Operation of Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit 2 (SER) dated October 1985, steam generator level control and protection (Sections 1.7.2 and 7.3.3.12) is identified as a backfit issue.

As noted in the SER, before this issue can be resolved, an additional review of the applicability of 10 CFR 50.55a(h) to this issue must be completed.

Before the applicability review can be completed, I need to have your Final Safety Evaluation Report (FSAR) revised to eliminate the incon31stency in representing the steam generator high level trip system as part of the Emergency Safety Features Actuation System and the mistaken representation that it was part of the Protection System.

Will you please provide me your earliest schedule to amend the FSAR.

Sincerely, se e t T u m,*en,Jr.
