Review of Structural Integrity Tests (SIT)

a.

SIT Procedures and Directives The Region III inspector verified that procedures TP 1E66-P-001, Revision 1, and TP 1E61-P-005, Revision 1, and the test set-up was in accordance with NRC requirements and licensee conmitments, and that authorized personnel had approved the program documents.

Drywell SIT The drywell test was started July 21, 1985. The test was not completed due to SRV penetration pressure seal boots rupturing during drywell pressurization. There are a total of 19 of these seal boots. The licensee initiated a Deviation Analysis Report on this problem. The drywell test will be performed following rectification of the seal boot problem.

Containment SIT The containment test was started July 31, 1985. The test progressed as planned, and all structural movements observed were determined to be within acceptable limits.

Exit Interview The Region III inspector met with the licensee representatives (denoted under Paragraph 1) at the conclusion of the inspection on August 1, 1985.

The inspector summarized the purpose and findings of the inspection.

The licensee acknowledged this information.

The inspector also discussed the likely informational content of the inspection report with regard to documents or processes reviewed during the inspection.

The licensee did not identify any such documents / processes as proprietary.
