SUBJECT:

QUALITY OF TRANSCRIPTS PREPARED BY FREE STATE REPORTING, INC.

On several occasions over the past few months, I or my staff have found it necessary to review transcripts of Comission, ACRS or NRC Staff

. meetings. I have noticed that the transcripts prepared by Free State Reporting, Inc. are of particularly poor quality, filled with gaps and e rrors, While nty office can usually piece together what actually transpired by calling participants in the meeting, members of the public who don't have such easy access are not so able to determine what happened on issues that effect them.

  • I would like to see prompt improvement on this problem. Please let me know what is being done to improve transcript quality.
