FEMA REVIEW OF REVISION 4 0F THE LILCO l
TRANSITION PLAN FOR SHOREHAM In response to a formal request from the NRC that the Federal Emergency Manage-l ment Agency (FEMA) conduct a review of Revision 4 to the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station Local Offsite Radiological Emergency Response Plan (i.e., the Transi-tion Plan), FEMA provided the enclosed response dated July 11, 1984 This response is being forwarded for your information.
As noted in the enclosure, FEMA intends to provide findings on Revision 4 of the LILCO Transition Plan on November 15, 1984 We have informed the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board Panel of this date in the course of preparing the quarterly Simpson report on the status of offsite emergency preparedness.
The Panel has advised us that a decision on offsite emergency planning issues for i
Shoreham is not expected before January 1985 and that the possibility of a licensing impact resulting from emergency planning issues will be reassessed as the schedule for hearing on issues other than ecergency planning becomes more definite.
