GLP Consumets Power Company ceneres Offices: 1945 West Parnall Road, Jackson, MI 49201 e (5171788-0550 March 12, 1984 PJK 13-84 Mr Dale Keating NRC Region III 799 Roosevelt Road Glen Ellyn, IL 60137 The fifth inspection of the Palisades SIRW tank support structure was per-formed on March 8, 1984. The inspection program includes measurement of width of selected concrete beam cracks and elevation measurements of the support structure.
The inspection was conducted with the tank empty and is to be compared with the inspection on September _ 20, 1964~ with the tank empty. 4The results.of the C cinspectionion March 8, 1984 shows no-significant change _in elevation of the tank: support: structure,for'these-two unloaded' conditions and, therefore, does nottsupport"the:earlierJconcern.of a possible inelastic condition. g Further inspections will be conducted during the current refueling ef fort to establish the structural behavior of the tank support structure.
