SUBJECT:

PALISADES SIRW TANK SUPPORT STRUCTURES A fourth inspection of the Palisades SIRW tank support was performed on February 11, 1984. The inspection program includes measurement of width of selected concrete beam cracks and elevation measurements of the support structure.

The inspection was conducted with the tank filled to 94% of capacity and compared with the inspection on January 31, 1984 with the tank 94% full. The results of the inspection on February 11, 1984 confirms the results of the inspection on January 31, 1984, which indicate the support structure has generally settled up to a maximum of 1/8 inch at its center as compared with the inspection on August 8, 1983 with the tank 98% full.

Therefore, Consumers Power Company will continue to monitor the SIRW tank support as planned in the previous letter sent to you on February 6, 1984.
