Dear Commissioner Gilinsky:

Carl Walske of the Atomic Industrial Forum related to me certain remarks you made on October 13 regarding the experience level of operating personriel at the Shoreham plant.

I want you to know that since your recent visit to Shoreham we have decided to drap the " advisor" system for shift operating personnel.

Instead, we will hire, as permanent company employees, experinced BWR operators, who will fill a supervisory slot on each shift.

Although I phoned this information to Mr. D.

Eisenhut earlier this week, it could not have reached you by routine communication channels.

Because of the particular interest you expressed in this matter during your Shoreham visit, I thought you'd want to hear about this as quickly

as possible.
