TII-4249 August 10, 1984 QUESTIONS RELATIVE TO ALLEGATION NO. 43 a) Provide coating procedure which gives requirements for monitoring / verifying temperature and relative humidity during curing of inorganic zine coatings, 4

b) Was water curing of the zine coatings ever used and recorded?

c) What fraction of the backfit adhesion test failures (less than 200 psi) were zine cohesive failures.

d) What percentage of coatings NCR's involve zine cohesive failures?

Response

a) The require =ents for monitoring / verifying temperature and relative humidity during cure of inorganic zine coatings is described in CCP-30, CCP-30A, QI-QP-11.4-1, QI-QP-11.4-5 and QI-QP-11.4-26. (Copies attached).

b) Yes, on inspection reports, c) Specific data is not available.

d) Since July 1980, approximately 430 NCR's have been written in the coatings area. 18 of these NCR's involve adhesion / cohesion failure of some type on liner place, but do not specify type of failure.
