1-B G&H Specification 2323-AS-31 Protective Coatings 2.0 GEhTRAL 2.1 FURPOSE To provide the :nethod fer maintaining identification of items and/or areas that do nct meet project coating requirements. This procedure is established to assure compliance with' the provisions of Peference 1-A.

2.2 SCOPE This instruction shall apply to all protective coatings dich do-not meet criteria specified per Paference 1-3 for contai. rent.

2.3 DEFINITIONS 2.3.1 Exempt log - te register of items and/or areas inside centairrent that do not meet the requirements of Peference 1-B.

2 . 3.2 Unqualified Coating - Protective coating that does ret neet the requirements of Reference 1-B.

2.3.3 Undocumented coating - Protective coating that meets requirements of Beference 1-B, but is nbt properly documented per the established QA program.

2.3.4 DCA - Design Change Authorization 2.4 RESPCNSIBILITIES 2e CPP Civil Engineer shall be responsible for approving -

entries, and maintaining the protective coatirg exemption log.

Where specific individuals are designated by title, it shall be understood that designees may be delegated to act in that capacity.

D e log should include the item and/or area coated, the coating system used, if known, and the square footage involved.

3.2 SUBMISSIONS Items and/or areas to be eialuated for inclusion shall be s @s.itted to Civil Engineering. Rese sutmissions may ce from vendors exceptions, project purchasing specifications, requests fran construction and requests from Quality Assurance.

3.3 INCLUSIONS Only items and/or areas that are exe:rpt by reason of specification, DCA, or engineer approval shall be included in the exe:tpt log.

3.4 APPPOVAL All entries to the log shall be approved regardless of the origin of the entry.

3.5 At empletion of construction, the Exenption Icg shall be forwarded to the Permanent Plant Records Vault.
