SUBJECT:

MIDLAND PLANT QUALITY ASSURANCE Attached for your information and use is an interim 50.55(e) report concerning cuality assurance program and manufacturing deficiencies at Midland. These ceficiencies affect radiation monitoring equipment being supplied by Victoreen, Inc. of Claveland, Ohio.

I would like to point out to you that the Management Corrective Action Report does not identify the Midland Plant Quality Assurance Department (MPQAD1 as having detected defective workmanship in the Victoreen equipment delivered to the rite. None of the corrective actions proposed by Consumers ara directed at Consumers' receipt inspection program.

Since quality assurance will be one of the topics to be discussed at the next i;idland Plant Subconsnittee meeting, you may want to include a discussion of Consumers' receipt inspection prograin.
