'n OPERATING DATA REPORT SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GGNS) Offsite Dose Calculation Manual (ODCM)

Revision 1 Changes made in Revision 1 are outlined below:

9 (1) Page 1.0-2

~iine 7 isi hange'd to read "...tNe available dilution Flow c

(F) should be....".

Justification: The dilution flow available during a.

discharge from radwaste can change, however a 4

change in the dilution flow would not result in a release of radioactive material in excess of the allowable quantities as long as this flow did not fall below the minimum expected dilution flow rate. If the flow should fall below the minimum flow rate then the system automatically isolates the radwaste blowdown. Therefore, this change

.will not result in'an increase in the levels of radioactivity being discharged to the environment, nor will it reduce the accuracy or reliability of the-dose calculations and setpoint determinations in a non-conservative manner.

(2) Page 1.0-2 REIS table is. changed to 4.11.1.1.1-1.

Justification: This change was made to maintain consistency I

with GGNS Technical Specifications.

It has no effect on the accuracy or reliability of the dose calculations or setpoint determinations.

(3).Page 1,0-4 Line 10 is changed to read "F

= 0.9 x minimum expected' d

dilution flow rate" Justification: The justification for this change is the same as that identified in Item 1.

-(4).Page 1.0-4 Line 19 is changed to read "F = F = 0.9 x minimum expected d

dilution flow rate".

. Justification: The justification for this change is the same as-that identified in Item 1.

(5) Page 1.0-6 Replace the sample curve for the Liquid Effluent Monitor withtheactualcaligrationcurveref*.actingacounting efficiency of 3 x 10 cpm /uci/ml.

Justification: This change replaces the sample curve used in the ODCM, pending the. installation and calibration of the Liquid Effluent Monitor, with the actual calibration curve. As a result, this change will increase the reliability and accuracy of the dose calculations and setpoint determinations.

(6) Page 1.0-7 Line 6 is changed to add a reference to GGNS Technical Specifications 4.11.1.2 and 4.11.1.3.1.

Justification: This change maintains consistency with GGNS Technical Specifications and as such has no effect on the accuracy or reliability of the dose calculations or setpoint determinations.

(7) Page 1.0-13 Table 1.2-3 The ingestion dose commitment factor for Br-83 to the total body is changed to read 4.04E+01.

Justification: Zhis is an administrative change which corrects an error made in the original calculation of this dose commitment factor.

Because this change more accurately represents the dose commitment factor for this isotope, it will increase the reliability and accuracy of the dose calculations and setpoint determinations.

(8) Page 1.0-14 Table 1.2-3 The ingestion dose commitment factors for Ag-110m to the bone, liver, total body, thyroid, kidney, lung, and G1 LLI are changed to 8.81E-01, 8.15E-01, 4.84E-01, 0.00E00, 1.60E+00, 0.00E00 and 3.30E+02 respectively.

Justification: The justification for this change is the same as that identified in Item 7.

Page 3 of 6 (9). Page 1.0-15 The Liquid Radwaste Treatment System diagram is changed to indicate those components which are required to meet the operability requirement of RETS specification 3/4.11.1.3.

. Justification: This change identifies those components of-the Liquid Radwaste-Treatment System which must be operational in order to meet the operability requirement of GGNS Technical Specification 3/4.11.1.3.-

It is more specific to the GGNS Liquid Radwaste Treatment System and eliminates those.

components (e.g.' cooling tower, reactor, etc.) which are not' vital to the operation of the system.

It has no effect on the accuracy or reliability of the dose calculations or setpoint determinations.

(10) 'Page 2.0-7 Line 10 is changed to reac "2.2.1.b organ dose due to tritium, I-131, I-133 and all radioactive...".

. Justification: This $hange adds'tditium to the organ' dose calculations and~ corrects the implication that all radioiodines are monitored. when in fact;only, Iodines-131 and'-133 are expected to exist and have half-lives which allow them'~

to be monitored. This change will increase x

the~ accuracy and reliability of the dose calculations and setpoint determinations.-

(11) Page 2.0-7 Line 14 is changed to read " =

I-i t

Justification: This change makes the ODCM calculation methodology consistent with the Standard j..

Technical Specifications,-10 CFR Part 20 and NUREC 0133. This change increases the

- accuracy and~ reliability of the dose calculations and setpoint determinations.

-(12) Page 2.0-8 Line 2 is changed to read "...(M. mrem /yr per uCi/sec) for other pathways, from Table 2.2-la and 2.2-lb".

m

Attachment to AECM-83/0705 Page 4 of 6 Justification: This change involves a renumbering of the Pathway Dose Factor Tables and therefore is administrative in nature.

It has no effect on the accuracy or reliability of the dose calculations or setpoint determinations.

(13) Page 2.0-9 Line 9 is changed to read " Dose to~an' individual from tritium, I-131, I-133 and radioactive...".

Justification: This change corrects the implication that all radioiodines are monitored, when in fact only Iodines-131 and -133 are expected to exist and have half-lives which allow them to be monitored. This change will increase the accuracy and reliability of the dose calculations and setpoint determinatione.

(14) Page 2.0-10 Line 2 is changed to read " Tables 2.2.2a - 2.2.2d".

Justification: The justification for this change is the same as that identified in Item 12.

(15) Page 2.0 2.0-22 Renumber the tables, correct the technical specification references, include the units for the tritium pathways and modify the following dose factors:

This change increases the accuracy and reliability of the dose calculations and setpoint determinations.

Attschssnt to AECM-83/0705-Page 6 of 6 Significant :

Revision 1 to the ODCM involves no changes to the safety-Hazards related equipment at GCNS. 'It.does not introduce a Category significant reduction in the margin of safety and does not involve a significant increase in the probability or consequences of an accident previously evaluated, nor does it create the possibility of a new or different kind of accident from any~ accident previously evaluated. Thus, there are no significant hazards involved.
