Letter from A. J. Haverfield to R. H. Vollmer, dated flarch 24, 1982, same subject as above The enclosed flRC Form 173, Standard Order for DOE 1.'ork, is hereby submitted in accordance with Section III B.2 of the DOE /fiRC f4emorandum of Understanding, dated February 24, 1978.
I have reviewed the referenced request for approval of Pill to subcontract a portion of the technical work under the subject project.
It is understood that Pf;L will obtain supporting services of Dr. Digby ficDonald,i;aterials Research Department, Ohio State University to perform an independent evaluation of the causes for corrosion in the Tfil 1 steam generators.
Additionally, he will provide an assessment of the propensity for the identified corrosive specie: to initiate corrosion in other primary pressure boundry materials.
I find the stated agreement to be acceptable.
In addition, the enclosed flRC Form 173 is revised to reflect a starting date of January 25, 1982. The previous Form 173 was in error.
