(4)HRCInspectionReport 50-352/79-01; 50-353/79-01 dated Harch 5,1979 (unresolved item 352/79-01-02).
References (1) and (2) transmitted for our review and evaluation a response frota Philadelphia Electric Co. (reference 3) regarding an inspection report unrcsolved ites (reference 4) identified during post-tensiontag the fuel pool cfrders at Limerick Unit 1 Station. The ites identified the need f;r qualification tests addressing slippage of the wedge anchors during pr2 stressing and the use of a monostrand jack to recover the prestress 1 css due to slippage.
We have reviewed the sutaittal by PEco which includes an engineering evaluation perfsrmed by Bechtel and results of VSL Corporation's qualiffcation tests of the post-tensioning systen caterials and field procedures. The results of our review are:
1 1.
The qualification tests conducted by YSL verify that the capacity of j
the anchorage systen is capable of meeting design requirements.
2.
Variations in prescating the wedge anchors and the use of a monostrand ram should not affect the applicability of the qualification tests.
3.
The evaluations performed by PECo Bechtel and VSL adequately address the identified unresolved item.
