LaSalle Nuclear Power Stations Units 1 and 2 LaSalle Station Security Plan NRC Docket Nos. 50-373 & 50-374 TAC Nos. 65376165377 Enclosed are the original and three (3) copies of Revision 48 of the LaSalle Nuclear Power Station Security Plan. This revision addresses the issues identified by James R. Creed, in response to Revision 47 of the LaSalle Nuclear Power Station Security Plan. Clarification has been made to Section 8.3 to identify perimeter alarms which do not degrade the response capabilities and to clarify compensatory measures for CCTV failure. Also, a tecunical evaluation is enclosed to explain the measures in place to assure the security badges; including visitor badges, are not compromised. In addition, this revision clarifies the corrective actions to restore pn ner in the event of a loss of primary power to lighting, incorporates the " limbo crea" as explained in the technical evaluation and further identifies the availability o1 external response forces.

Pursuant to 10CFR 50.54(p), the signed original and three copies of the security plan revisions ire being provided to your office. A copy of this letter and two copies of the security plan revisions are being sent to Region Ill.

i We have concluded that these changes do not decrease the safeguards effectiveness of the plan. These enclosures contain Safeguards Information which must be protected from public disclosure pursuant to 10CFR 73.21.
