LILCO filed a request in November 1980 asking that it be extended to March 31, 1983.

Under 10 CFR S 2.109, LILCO's timely application for an extension will leave the permit in effect until the application has been finally determined.

The facility is presently eighty-seven percent completed.

Section 189a of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, 42 U.S.C. S 2239(a),

provides that, at the request of any person whose interest may be affected, the Commission shall grant a hearing regarding the amendment _of a construction permit.
