The following paragraph should be added to the enclosed license l

application, in accordance with telephone conversation with Mr.

A. L. Smith, Naval Undersea Research and Development Center:

The lifting bridle of the exposure chamber shown in Figure 4 of enclosure (1) will be protected electrolytically by the addition of a zinc sacrificial anode. Also, the exposure chamber will be retrieved by a diver whose exposure will be mon-itored with thermoluminescent dosimeters.

We endr se the attached request for the amendment of Special Nuclear Material License SNM-1154, to authorize the possession and use of solid solution cermet containing plutonium and we recommend that the license be amended accordingly.
