As requested by reference (a) the following information is submitted concerning the request for amendment for the tidal area tests.

Our preliminary environmental tests with a test frame embedded in sand near the air-seawater interface off San Clemente Island indicated that, to insure complete safety and security of the test pellet, a redesign of test conditions is warranted.
A complete modification in the test procedure and location is being reexamined with a view toward conduct of the test in FY 1976.
Once the location and procedure has been reaffirmed and tested in the ocean a complete test procedure, including the information requested in reference (a), will be submitted.

In the interim, it is requested that the request for amendment to SNM-ll54 regarding the tidal area environmental tests be withdrawn.
