SECY-81-462 - APPROVAL OF PROPOSED LICENSE TO EXPORT HIGHENRICHED URANIUM TO SWEDEN (LICENSE NO. XSNM01825)

This is to advise you that the Commissioners have reviewed the subject license to Transnuclear, Incorporated.

The Commission (with four Commissioners approving and Commissioner Bradford approving in part) has accepted your recommendation to export to Sweden 35.088 kilograms of uranium, enriched to 93.3% U-235, in the form of UF6-l Commissioner Gilinsky stated that he expected this to be the last HEU (93%) shipment for this reactor.

Commissioner Bradford approved the fabrication of the material to be performed by NUKEM but disapproved the work to be performed by CERCA.

The Office of International Programs was informed of this action by telephone on August 24, 1981.
