Dear Dr. Lewis:
I have read your February 19 letter to Jim Johnson on Confidence Limits, and it appears to me that the difference between your approach and his is one of personal choice, as you suggest, and the intended use of the limits, rather than something more fundamental.
I had planned to answer your November 23 letter to Chairman Carr on the subject of diesel generator reliability, including Jim Johnson's table of confidence limits, but I think that is now unnecessary.
