By letter of April 5, 1979, Mrs. June Allen, on behalf of the North Anna Environmental Coalitilon requested the Commission to revoke the North 'Arina, and Surry Power Station operating licenses and to consider like action at other Westinghouse reacters because of errors in certain Westinghouse ECCS-related calculations.
Mrs. Allen also requested an investigation of the effects of condensers on steam generator tube integrity and questioned the delay in board notification of a potential problem with the refueling water storage tank capacity at North Anna.

With regard to the first concern (the metal-water reaction error on the Westinghouse ECCS model) t h>
staff referred to the October 31, 1979 reply to a separate letter from Mrs. Allen, in which the sam {
auestions were addressed in detail.
The Octcber 31, 1979 letter explained that because VE?CO chos to use a corrected analysis without recuesting an{)
compensating changes, Vh*C0 was able to resolve the issue within days. /

Mrs. Allen's seccnd concern, that of the effect o) condensers on steam generator tube integrity, was the subject of another letter to Mrs. Allen dated July 31, 1979 That letter explains that the staff is maintaining a close watch on condenser leakage problems in order to minimize the chemica) effects on steam generators due to impurities in the secondary water system.
However, the letter also explained that while condenser leakage is related to steam generator tube leakage, other factors contribute to steam generator deteriora-tion.
The staff is continuing to study various methods of eliminating tube degradation, includinq monitoring and evaluating the effects of condenses leakage on secondary water chemistry.
