Narrative

Report for LEP. 50-321/1981-080.

On July 24, 1961, while the plant was in steady state operation at 2424 MWt, ooth primary containment H2 - 02 analyzers were found to be reading lower than actual concentrations of 0.

Tech Specs 3.7.A.5.b requirement of <4%

2 02 concentration was not met.

Plant operatior, was placed in a 12 hour1.388889e-4 days
0.00333 hours
1.984127e-5 weeks
4.566e-6 months
LCO.

The health and safety of the public was not affected. This is a repetitive event as 'last reported on Reportable Occurrence Report No. 50-321/1981-080.

The cause of this event has been attributed to component drift. The Hays Analyzers were recalibrated and returned to service.

N2 was added to reduce 02 content below 4%. The unit is in full compliance with the requirements and no further reporting is required.

The surveillance interval will be reduced from once per 6 months to once per week until the reliability of these instruments improves. This type of analyzer is not used on Hatch Unit II.
