Plant E. I. Hatch Docket No. : 50-321 flarrative Report for LER 50-321/1981-065 tlith the unit in steady state operation at 2372 iSit while performing Off-gas Hydrogen Analyzer Funct;onal Test and Calibration, HNP-1-3604, instrument fl62-fl009A was found inoperative.

Environmental Tech Specs Section 2.1.3.h requires one operable system during reactor power operation.

The redundant analyzer N62-N0093 was inoperative.

Plant operation was placed in a 14 day LC0 as a result of this event. The health and safety of the public was not a f fec ted.

This is a repetitive event as last reported on Reportable Occur-rence Report No. 50-321/1981-061.

The cause of this event has been attributed to component failure.

The fail-ure was due to a restricted immersion tube in the flame check assembly.

The component was replaced, the instrument recalibrated and returned to service.

A generic review revealed no inherert problems with this instrument. This instrument is used on both units at Plant Hatch.
