Narrative

' Report for LER 50-321/1981-030 While the plant was in a refueling outage 'and while performing a ' channel-calibra tion,

IC71-K751B and IC71-7510, RPS Motor-Generator Set Over-vol-tage' Relays, actuated at 140 volts AC, and.1C71-K752C, RPS Motor-Generator Set Under-voltage Relay, actuated at _83 volts AC.

Tech Specs Section' 4.9.D.1.(b) requires trip setpoints of less than or equal to.132 volts AC.

for over-voltage and greater than or equal to 108 volts AC for under-O voltage.

Redundant components 1C71-K7543, Over-voltage trip, and 1

1C71-K752A, Under-voltage trip,;were found 'within Tech Specs limits.

Neither plant operation nor the health and safety of the public was affected as a result of this event.

This is a non-repetitive event.

The cause of the event has been attributed to.setpoint drif t.

.The instruments were recalibrated and returned to service.

The same model relays are used on Unit II; however, a generic review revealed no inherent problems.
