Narrative

Report for LER 50-321/1981-045 On 5-25-81, with Unit i shutdown ~ for a. refueling / torus modif-ication ' outage LLRTs of the vacuum relief valves T48-F310 and F328A were performed per'l!NP-1-3952, Primary Containment Peri-odic Type ' B and Type C Leakage Tests.

On 5-26-81, the data sheets were reviewed by the LLRT coordinator, and it was determined that the valves were 1 caking such that it would

cause

the.60 La_overall allowabic leakage limit of Tech Specs 4.7.A.2.G to be exceeded (as found leakage:

test volume would not pressurize).

This is is a repetitive occurrence - refer to-LER 50 321/1981-038.

There were no effects on public health or safety due to this event.

An investigation was conducted to determine the cause of -the valves leaking.

The "0" ring on T48-F328A had worn and so had the "T"

rings on T48-F310.

These "0"

and "T"

rings were replaced and valves were reassembled.

The valves were then successfully. rctested (as 1cft:

400 accm).

The unit is now in full compliance with the requirements of Tech Specs 4.7.A.2.G, and no further reporting is required.
