Narrative

Report for LER 50-321/1981-033 in refueling main steam safety / relief valves F21-With Unit 1 F013A thru L were benchtested at Wyle Laboratories per plant procedure HNP-1-6020, Main Steam Relief Valves Maintenance.

On 4-21-81, site personnel received notification from Wylc Laboratories that 7 of these 11 valves. f ailed the test due to actuation set pressure being out of tolerance.

This condition would result in untimely valve. actuation during a transient but should not prevent safe unit shutdown.

A similar event was reported by LER 50-366/1980-161.
