Dear Mr. Denton:

FIRE PROTECTION EXEMPTION REQUEST r,f DOCKETS 50-266 AND 50-301

./

g, (,(c;'_.,-ljX POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1 AND 2 In the second full paragraph on Page 7 of our letter to you dated March 18, we stated, "In addition, selected maintenance and security personnel are trained and qualified for fire brigade duty."

The reference to maintenance personnel should be deleted so that the sentence reads:

"In addition, selected security personnel are trained and qualified for fire brigade duty."

This revised statement is compatible, with the present Point Beach Nuclear Plant fire protection organization, which has been changed to exclude Maintenance Group personnel as fire brigade members.

This change does not affect our previous commitment in respect to the number of people on shift qualified to serve on the fire brigade.

The revised statement, therefore, does not affect the basis for our exemption request.

Very truly yours, m
