In your letter of October 1, 1980, you requested that Duquesne Lf 3 t Company perfom a review of our existing physical security plan h

to provide assurance that the vital areas as described in the Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Station vital area analysis are protected in accordance with 10 CFR 73.55.

You also requested that we provide the results of our review and describe any proposed changes to the physical security plan required to meet the requirements of 10 CFR 73.55.

We have completed our review and have determined that some changes to the existing physical security plan will be necessary to ensure compliance with 10 CFR 73.55.

However, we will need additional time to adequately scope the extent of these changes and to provide complete descriptions of the changes for your review. We therefore request that we !e granted an extension of the required date for responding to your lettur until January 31, 1981.
