Bailly Generating Station, Nuclear 1 Docket No. 50-367
Dear Mr. Case:
Enclosed herewith are 40 copies of a report titled " Design, Analysis, and Installation of Driven H-Pile Foundation," SL 3627 dated March 8, 4
1978. This report demonstrates that there exists a competent layer i
beneath the main building complex and that the driven piles, when installed according to the driving criteria, will result in an adequate foundation for all anticipated loading conditions in compliance with all requirements of Construction Permit No. CPPR-104.
This report discusses in detail the results of our comprehensive field and laboratory soil testing program, confirms the adequacy of the driving criteria, and desc.3ibes the production pile testing program.
It also discusses the design loading conditions and the seismic design methodology as well as other areas of interest expressed by your staff.
We would appreciate immediate staff review of this report and your con-currence that we may resume installation of piles in April,1978.
Very truly yours, EMS: cgs Enclosure em 7 ?."n PO *; 5 ENCLOSURE (2) 8011140M ~
