Environmental samples were not analyted using procedures which provided LLD's equal to or less than those required by the Environmental Technical Specifications:

Conditions Prior to Occurrence:

Description of Occurrence-The following samples had LLD's greater than those required for the dates indicated below:

Seawater (6 stations)

Natural radiation background may have caused activity La che samples which can re'sult in higher LLD's.

Inadequate sample count time may also have contributed to the greater than required LLD's.

Analysis of Occurrence:

Of the six nuclides whose LLD's were greater than required, the activity associated with all of the nuclides was non-detectable.

Corrective Action

The annual average LLD for I-131 and TH-232 in Seawater is equal to, or less chan,;

that required.

No further corrective actions are necessary for the Seawater pathway.

11.

Failure Data:

This is the tenth (10th) report for this type occurrence.
