Gentlemen:
This refers to your letter of October 18, 1979, which responded to
the Notice of Violation sent to you with our letter of September 24,
1979, concerning activities that were in noncompliance with NRC
Operating License No. DPR-72.
With respect to item A, your response does not provide reasonable
assurance that high radiation area posting and barricades will be
maintained intact as required by 10 CFR 20. Based upon a telephone
conversation between Mr. Quick of this office and Mr. Cooper of your
staff, on October 23, 1979, it is our understanding that you will
submit a supplemental response to item A, within ten (ten) days of
your receipt of this letter, which provides the information required
by 10 CFR 2.201, with respect to more positive assurance that re-
currence will be prevented.
Concerning your response to item B, we have no further questions.
We will examine your corrective actions during subsequent inspections.
We appreciate your cooperation with us.
Sincerely,
E.C.
