The Public Server System (PSS) executing the R*TIME EROS interface is the vendor software (R*Time) developed by Curtiss-Wright Nuclear for use in the Nuclear Industry to send data from Plant Process Computers to an NRG provided VPN appliance. The windows based PSS to NRG interface passes selected process data (temperatures, radiation levels, MET data, etc.) from Plant Process Computers to the NRG during emergency events classified as an "Alert" of higher thru a VPN network connection.

The two primary sources for R*Time EROS data is from the PSS and the Simulator servers (i.e. in support of EP drills). The plant process data will be acquired from the active PSS Server (CP-SVR-PSSM or CP-SVR-PSSL), while the simulator process data will be acquired from the active Simulator Server (CP-SVR-SHEMP or CP-SVR-CURL Y). This data transfer functionality is achieved by running two separate and independent instances of the R*Time EROS to NRG interface, one configured to transfer plant process data from the active PSS Server (CP-SVR-PSSM or CP-SVR-PSSL), and the other configured to transfer simulator process data from active Simulator Server (CP-SVR-SHEMP or CP-SVR-CURL Y).

A Plant Process Computer System (PPCS) EROS Display will be used to initiate/terminate data transfer to the NRG, display the current status of the NRG connection, number of NRG messages send, and display the current value/status of the process data being transferred to the NRG. The EROS R*Time to NRG interface operates as a windows service and will not communicate directly to end users. Qualified IT personnel will be able to setup the required EROS R*Time interface parameters needed to support the data transfer capability to the NRC.

The PPCS EROS Display will contain two command buttons that can be used by trained end users who are given access to initiate or terminate process data transfers to the NRG.

Describe any constraints that restrict the scope (regulatory processes, budgetary, etc.)

EROS is required to be operational and able to be activated within one hour of a declaration of an ALERT or higher emergency classification level per 1 0CFR50 Appendix E,Section VI. Therefore, the design function of the EROS data transfer is to be activated from an "EROS Enabled" PPCS EROS Display within one hour of a declaration of an ALERT or higher emergency classification level and initiate transfer of EROS process data to the NRC.
