EVENT DESCRIPTION

A field Investigation of Unit Two Engineered Safeguard System (ESS) cable pans found three safety-related cables that were not installed in accordance with the cable tabulation drawings. These cable numbers cre 21359, 21360, and 21361 and are the main feed cables for MCC 28-2 from Bus 28 and ESS I Bus.

The routing of these ESS I cables lie in ESS 11 cable pans that contain the main feed cables for ESS II HCC 29-2.

VI.

PROBA6LE CONSEQUENCES OF THE OCCURRENCE:

The consequences of this occurrence are minimal in that the loss of both MCC 28-2 and MCC 29-2 would not affect a safe reactor shutdown. Also, the loss of MCC 28-2 and MCC 29-2 would not jeopardize the performance of the reactor emergency core cooling systems.

CAUSE

The cause of this event is an error in cable routing made during initial construction.

Vill. CORRECTIVE ACTION:

Under work request number 2822-79, the ESS Division I, main feed cables to MCC 28-2, will be re-routed during the November 1979 refueling outage in accordance with the cable tabulation drawing.
