During normal operation in order to complete corrective maintenance, the HPCI System was intentionally made inoperable.

Prior to placing the sys tem out of service, Operat ions Surveillance Test F-ST-4G t i t led "HPC I System inoperable Test" was completed.

This action sat-is fied the requi rements of Technical Speci fication Appendi x A, Paragraph 3.5 C. I.a.

The re fo re, the event.did not represent a signi ficant hazard to the public health and sa fety.

The HPCI System was made inoperable to replace a leaking gasket associated wi th the systems hydraulic coatrol valve seat drain.

Speci fically, a gasket in the 3/4 inch drain line was replaced and the system was restored to operating status approximately four (4) hours later.
