Centlemen:

Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 2 Inservice Inspection and Testing Program As requested by Reference (1), Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNECO) has completed revising the inservice testing program for pumps and valves to address the comments made by members of the NRC Staff during the review of Reference (2),

and as discussed at meetings between the Staff and NNECO and NUSCO personnel held at the Millstone site on May 23 and 24, 1979.

The revised ISI/IST program is provided as Attactnent 1.

NNECO has also completed its review of the Staff concerns transmitted in Reference (3), concerning the Class 1 and 2 inservice inspection program.

Responses to those items are provided as Attachment 2.

NNECO implemented the inservice testing program for pumps and valves for Millstone Unit No. 2 on April 26, 1979, in accordance with the provisions of 10CFR50. 55 (a).

Reference (4) provided interim approval of the ISI/IST program submitted in Reference (2) and documented the Staf f position regarding compliance with existing Technical Specifications.

In light of the additional information obtained from the above mentioned meetings, experience gained from program development at other NU-operated nuclear plants, and improvements resulting
